Zurka Launches E-Commerce Site for Balducci’s Food Lover’s Market

We’re excited to announce the launch of the new e-commerce website for our client, Balducci’s Food Lover’s Market! Our team worked above and beyond to deliver a stunning website matching the sophistication and caliber of the Balducci’s brand. Not only was it fun to work with such an elite client, but the project itself challenged us to build something more robust than the average e-commerce site or content management system.

Working With Balducci's Food Lover's Market

Caviar, mouth-watering recipes, chef-prepared dishes, and gourmet gifts galore: these are just a few words that come to mind when thinking of Balducci’s elite brand. Originally a produce stand run by “Pop” Balducci’s himself, this gastronomic powerhouse has grown into multiple brick-and-mortar locations spanning five states. Throughout its growth, Balducci’s passion for high quality food remains the inspiration behind the company's mission and well-known name. This incredible background story as well as Balducci's high caliber standards are what made us jump at the opportunity to work with such a superb partner.

Telling Balducci's Food Story the Right Way

From our experience, food is one of the most complex products to create an e-commerce process for. The entire food experience — from farm to table — is an incredible story that is highly emotiv and personal. What one person likes is often completely different from the next individual, and we knew the Balducci's website had to be a personal experience tailored for each individual Balducci's customer. We wanted every Balducci's site visitor to feel like this was a store made with him or her specifically in mind, both managing and beating any customer's expectations. To top this off, we also kept various devices in mind when designing the platform. The new Balducci's website performs effortlessly on mobile devices, making this e-commerce tool readily available for any customer on the go.

Integrating Multiple Subsystems and APIs

Another challenging project feat was enabling the new website to integrate with multiple subsystems for various Balducci’s business needs. The website communicates seamlessly with many of Balducci’s preexisting systems that are provided through other software vendors and third parties. Whether processing a catering order through Synergy Fusion; expediting the Balducci’s Rewards sign-up process; or communicating with Payeezy, Retalix, or the UPS API, this site does so much more than simply house content.
