Kings Food Markets

Freshness Matters at Kings Food Markets

After undergoing a complete brand update, it was apparent that the Kings Food Markets website needed a refresh of its own to better reflect the quality the brand was known for with consumers.

The decision to move forward with the project was done mid-fiscal year, and while a vital project for the company, it had not been in the original annual budget. Zurka worked with the Kings team to lay out a lean project strategy that leveraged the existing infrastructure from our previous build where possible and prioritized maximum impact design and functionality to deliver a great product on budget.

Zurka relaunched the Kings website in-step with the refined branding. Working with the Kings creative team on the design, we were able to achieve their vision while mastering some large and small UX and technical issues. Seemingly small design elements such as responsive headers that leave more viewable content area can have large impacts on the customer experience, and ultimately sales.

Cooking up some success

One additional revenue source for Kings are their cooking classes. While popular, the existing sign-up/sales process was done through an additional website, creating a registration process that left a less than desirable taste in the mouths of both the customers and the cooking class managers.

Zurka designed and integrated a new Cooking Studio solution into the main site’s e-commerce system. With friendly UX options like calendar view/list view and filtering classes by type and instructor, the website is serving up more sales.

Key to the overall success is the ease in which the Cooking Studio team can manage the offerings and receive the orders. While we’re proud of what we build, our goal with every project is to hand over an easy to manage property that we step back to support as needed.
