This past week, we implemented and launched Build a Gift, a new custom website feature for our client, Balducci’s Food Lover’s Market. Balducci’s was looking to enhance their customers' experience by offering a new product option where they can create their own gift baskets. Instead of only offering prearranged gift baskets, Balducci’s wanted to grant creative liberty to their customers and allow them to arrange their own gift baskets, including selecting the type of vessel and the products themselves.

We’re excited to announce the launch of the new e-commerce website for our client, Balducci’s Food Lover’s Market! Our team worked above and beyond to deliver a stunning website matching the sophistication and caliber of the Balducci’s brand. Not only was it fun to work with such an elite client, but the project itself challenged us to build something more robust than the average e-commerce site or content management system.

Our Drupal4Gov Half Day had quite the turnout, with around 50 participants in attendance. During the first half of the event, attendees broke up into groups and sat in on a couple speaker sessions of choice. For the second half of the event, attendees rotated through shorter, lightning sessions. We had a number of great speakers who presented a variety of topics, including content type and taxonomy planning; working with Twig and Docker; and how to establish branding strategies and build trust within the tech industry. On June 21st, the Center for Computational Science at the U.S. Naval Research Laboratory (NRL) earned an “Excellent” score on the Command Cyber Readiness Inspection (CCRI) with key support of our on-site Zurka team. Since 2002, Zurka staff members have provided NRL with web development and more recently IT infrastructure and support expertise. Despite our long-lasting partnership with the lab, this was the first CCRI that Zurka had been involved in, and we delivered with flying colors.

We're excited to announce the launch of the IMSH 2019 website! It's our third year partnering with Gavilan & Associates and Graphek Design Studio to build a stunning website for the annual International Meeting on Simulation in Healthcare (IMSH).

Meeting a project deadline and its deliverables doesn’t always equate to project completion. Oftentimes, our work with our clients continues long after a website or web application launches. This could be for anything from implementing routine security updates to creating a new customized feature that wasn’t included in the project’s initial scope of work. Every client is different, and Zurka is a master at creating tailor-made features required of any client, no matter how unique. Recently, we provided some of this out-of-the-box work for our client TASTE by customizing Drupal’s order fulfillment process to streamline TASTE’s shipping process.

We’re excited to announce the launch of the EMpower website for American Fuel & Petroleum Manufacturers (AFPM). As a leading national trade association, AFPM members comprise virtually all U.S. refining and petrochemical manufacturing industries. AFPM’s members convert oil and natural gas into the gasoline, diesel, jet fuel, and petrochemicals that power our modern way of life. Members of AFPM come from industries that support over three million U.S. jobs and add nearly $600 billion each year to the U.S. economy. Not only do they make modern life possible for U.S. citizens, but they also make it attainable.

The Women's Ice Hockey Club at the University of Virginia (UVA) is a club sport team comprised of about 15 students who love ice hockey and competing in the Delaware Valley Collegiate Hockey Conference. Since it is a club and does not classify as a varsity sport, the team is eligible to receive limited funding from UVA. Members rely on donations and fundraisers to help support the team’s activities. Expenses for the team include transportation, room, and board fees for away games and tournaments; jerseys and other team equipment;  the cost of ice time; and referee fees.

Zurka Interactive had the honor of giving back to the PHP community this year by hosting the After-Party for the wonderful PHP World Zurka Interactive 2017 Conference back in November! The informative conference showcased excellent guest speakers and enabled us to connect with people from all over. We hope to continue hosting this fabulous event in the years to come!

The holidays are underway and Zurka participated in the Ugly Sweater Chili Cookoff this year! Our office participated again with the fabulous people from 1Spatial and Upskill for the special occasion. We enjoyed delicious chili and cornbread, with the BAMA Chili as the winner!! Thanks to our stylish Bryan Wilson representing our office, we won the Ugly Sweater award!!
